St. Mary's Ferry
One
hundred years ago, the St. Mary’s River bustled with boat traffic carrying cargo and passengers between Fernandina and
St. Marys, Ga. With the invention of the automobile, ferry service
became obsolete. Today, Kevin and Cecilia McCarthy of Amelia
River Cruises are bringing back ferry service between Fernandina
and St. Marys, Ga. The McCarthy’s 99-passenger ferry the
Bald Eagle also connects passengers to the ferry from St. Marys
to Cumberland Island. For more information, visit
